Welcome to fifth grade!  I am looking forward to an exciting year.  This will be a year of academic challenges, but we will also have some fun along the way.   This year developing good time management skills will be essential.  The students will learn how important it is to work a little on assignments each night, so they do not become overwhelmed.

The fifth and sixth grades work closely together.  We begin to introduce the students to the concept of switching classes for different subjects.  I teach fifth and sixth grade math while Mrs. Jenkins teaches fifth and sixth grade science.  In addition to switching classes the fifth and sixth graders have combined classes for world history and art.  The fifth and sixth grade will also work together on various projects for holidays or special events throughout the year.

I look forward to getting to know the students and watching them blossom throughout the course of the school year.  I am sure we will have a great year!
